Through the last four quarters my blog has definitely changed. In first quarter I would choose the first post that I made as a good representation for how my first few posts went. I chose this one because I was just starting out. I didn’t really know how to use this website. I had to figure out how to add pictures, add text, and how to format everything. My first few posts were very experimental and they changed a lot because I was finding new ways to do everything. Also my writing was much worse than now. I was writing incorrect run-on sentences and misusing commas. The first few posts were definitely a good representation of how much learning I had to do. For second quarter I would probably use either my flubber soap or my wreathe. I chose these two because I was taking a lot more time to think of more thought out projects that took more time and effort. I started to expand my horizon of projects. I also was having errors in my writing. For third quarter I would use my EOS crayon post. This post had better formating of everything. I had gotten the hang of how to use this website and how I wanted my posts to look. Also I had started using better language and writing better paragraphs. I had started to put more time into my project. For fourth quarter a good indicator post would be my stress ball post. This post was not very different from most posts from 3rd quarter. I wasn’t necessarily improving very much on writing or pictures. I was still staying at the same level.
I asked my mom to look over my posts. She said, “The first few posts have way too many commas,” She thought that I had too many commas in incorrect places. She also said, “the sentences were not very well put together in the first post. They got much better at the end.” I knew that I wasn’t the greatest writer at the beginning of the year. I also knew I used too many incorrect commas. I was not surprised by anything that she said. She basically said things that I already knew. She told me that I definitely improved the posts as the got further along in the year. I also knew that. My writing has improved drastically since last October.
As a writer I definitely have goals that I would like to meet in the future. I really enjoy writing but I’m not the best at it. I want to be able to use my writing to make people feel a certain way. I want to be able to write powerful poems or papers. I want to be able to affect people with my writing. I also would like to expand my vocabulary. I feel like a big part of making people interested in your writing is using a big variety of words. No one wants to sit and read repetition on a page. That gets boring and obviously repetitive. Those are goals that I have for myself in the future as I continue learning and writing papers. As a writer I have learned that I need to learn how to structure sentences better. I also learned that I reuse words too often. One thing that I have learned about myself is that as much as I love doing DIY’s and crafts I definitely don’t like to write about the process. I have so much more fun making thing when I don’t have a deadline and I don’t have to write a blog post about it. I was not expecting that to be the outcome of this PWP but it was. I have learned many things this year. I have learned a lot about writing. I have learned a lot about how to combine sentences. I have learned so much about how to write a dialogue correctly and effectively. I have learned about innovation. I learned a whole lot of stuff about writing and lots of other topics this year!
